Two friendly competitors have united to form a company.
Dennis Dilmaghani, president of Dilmaghani in Scarsdale, NY, and Essy Kashanian, president of Kashandia Carpet Corp. in Secaucus, NY, recently announced the formation of D&K Wholesale, headquartered in Brewster, NY.
Aiming to bring together the best of both companies, Dennis Dilmaghani said, “Essy and I complement each other in our skills and personalities. He is an excellent buyer and fine salesperson, while I am strong in business operations, marketing and finance. We have already found that two of us working together as a team can accomplish a great deal more than working individually.”
As a part of their mission, Dilmaghani and Kashanian have combined their inventories, extensive knowledge and skills to address the changes in the current market. “We are providing our customers with needed product and guidance to deal with the changes in consumer buying and attitude,” Dilmaghani said. “We are also looking at new ways to market and promote – angles we have not explored before.”
With almost 70 years collectively of industry know-how, both men are eager to share their expertise with their customers. “We are already working on interesting new items and ideas to improve our customers’ businesses,” Said Essy Kashanian.
Attendees of the January International Area Rug Market in Atlanta will find D&K ready with specially priced, high-end tufted goods, a host of new designs and colorations in already stocked and supported lines, and a new line of entry-level, hand-knotted rugs, bridging the cost gap between tufted and handmade goods. In addition, D&K has a huge inventory and custom availability of shaped rugs in all styles and sizes.
Both Dilmaghani and Kashanian are very optimistic about of the future of the rug business – and about D&K in particular.
“We have already had an exceptional response to our announcement from customers and friends, alike,” Kashanian said. “We are receiving requests for everything from dealer-level custom programs to special promotions – and we love it. If anyone has a special challenge, bring it to D&K. We will make it happen.”
